Focus and Scope

Communication & Methods (Comunicación y Métodos) is an international open access journal that presents up-to-date international research results stressing, but not being restricted to, topics of media and research (advertising, journalism, cinema, television, etc). It is open to proposals for special issues, commentaries, book reviews and extended review essays.

Communication & Methods (Comunicación y Métodos) utilizes a double-blind peer review process for original research articles in which the reviewer and author’s names and information are withheld from the other. All manuscripts are reviewed as rapidly as possible, while maintaining rigor. The journal’s policy is to have manuscripts reviewed by two expert reviewers. Reviewers make comments to the author and recommendations to Editor, who makes the final decision.

PERIODICITY OF THE JOURNAL: biannual

HOMOGENEITY: The Journal Communication & Methods only admits articles and reviews related to communication: advertising, journalism, public relations, corporate or institutional image, intangibles, cinematography, photography, radio, television, internet, graphic design, industrial or corporate, etc.

CONTENTS: The totality of the articles published in the journal Communication and Methods are research articles. Priority is given to those that emphasize the methodology used, admitting both quantitative and qualitative methodologies, comparative method, content analysis, semiotic, psychoanalytic, experimental, textual, cultural, ethnographic, historiological, iconological, anthropological, etc. Likewise, conventional research tools in the field of social sciences (In-Depth Interview, Discussion Groups, Participant Observation, SWOT Analysis, Semantic Differential, etc.) as well as those related to digital media (Big Data, etc.) will be accepted. .).

EDITORIAL: All issues of the journal include an editorial written primarily by a member of the editorial board or the scientific committee.
